Environmental Responsibility

We comply with the CRRU (Campaign for Responsible Rodenticide Use) code of best practice for the responsible use of rodenticides, ensuring they are used correctly and in ways that will minimise exposure to wildlife, especially in rural areas. When chemicals must be used for any treatment we follow strict guidelines to reduce the effects of cross-contamination to non-target species. We also care for the environment in which we work by adhering to the Wildlife & Countryside Act 1981, as well as the Wild Mammal Protection Act 1996 so as not to cause unnecessary and unlawful suffering to wild mammals.

Pest Control Legislation

At PreventiPest we make sure we adhere to legislation at all times when carrying out any pest management activity and treatments. This includes the Control of Pesticides Regulation of 1986 (COPR), Control of Substances Hazardous to Health 2002 (COSHH), the Biocide Product Regulation 2013 (BPR), the Pests Act 1954 and the Prevention of Damage by Pests Act 1949, as well as all health and safety legislation as mentioned in the next section. We will also provide Manufacturers’ Data Sheets for products and chemicals used on all jobs for our customers’ information.

Pest Control Health & Safety

It is most essential that we abide by and fully understand legislations regarding to health and safety especially when working with commercial entities, so we never put your business at risk. When on-site or handling chemicals or other hazardous substances, we ensure our technician complies with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health 2002 (COSHH), as well as wears the correct PPE at all times. In food preparation establishments, we help our customers to comply with the Food & Environment Protection Act 1985 (FEPA), the Food Safety Act 1990 and General Food Hygiene Regulations 2013.
